CHANGING CARE TOGETHER
Halton Crisis Continuum Advisory Group

HALTON CRISIS CONTINUUM PROJECT
Formed in 2023, The Halton Crisis Continuum (HCC) project brings together community, health, and social service partners across Halton Region.
Together, we’re working to strengthen how mental health and substance use crisis supports are delivered making sure people get the right care, at the right time, from the right person.
Join the Halton Crisis Continuum Community Advisory Group
We’re currently inviting people to apply to join the Community Advisory Group (CAG) roster to help guide this work and ensure community voices shape how crisis care is designed and delivered in Halton.
Rather than a single standing committee, the CAG operates through short, focused engagement sprints connected to specific Halton Crisis Continuum (HCC) initiatives.
As part of the CAG roster, you can expect to:
-
Be invited to participate in time-limited discussions or planning sessions tied to active HCC initiatives
-
Share your experiences and insights related to mental health or substance use crisis care when your perspective is most relevant
-
Participate in flexible ways, primarily virtually and at times that work with your schedule
-
Engage in a respectful, supportive space that values lived and living experience
Participation is optional and sprint-based. You can choose which opportunities to take part in, based on interest and availability.

Who Can Apply?
We welcome applications from people of all ages and backgrounds who:
-
Have personally experienced a mental health or substance use crisis,
-
Have used crisis services within the past five years, or
-
Are supporting a loved one (whether as a caregiver, family member, or friend) who is living with or has lived through mental health or substance use challenges.
Your experience matters. Whether you're a young adult, a parent, a grandparent, or anyone in between, your voice can help shape better support for our communities.
We especially encourage applications from people with diverse backgrounds and identities, including those who identify as Indigenous, Black, racialized, disabled, neurodivergent, 2SLGBTQIA+, unhoused or precariously housed, first-generation immigrants, youth, and/or older.
